Manchester United have submitted their opening offer for Ajax defender Lisandro Martínez.
The Red Devils are looking to wrap several deals next week, with moves for Frenkie de Jong and Tyrell Malacia now close.
Erik ten Hag is targeting players who he is familiar with and Martínez is someone who he worked at Ajax with last season.
Manchester United vs Arsenal for Lisandro Martínez
Ten Hag’s side are now making their move for Martínez and have outbid Arsenal, according to Mike Verweij.
United are believed to have made a €45 million bid which trumps the Gunners’ offer.
Arsenal’s bid currently stands at €40 million.
The Athletic are now reporting that United are now in advanced talks to sign the Argentine.
Sources also believe that the defender has a preference for Manchester United over Arsenal.
It is also understood that Arteta’s side see him a left-back, whilst United want to sign him as a centre-back.
