Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Dean Henderson from Manchester United.

The goalkeeper joins on a season-long loan deal and replaces the departing Brice Samba.

Forest were unable to agree on a new contract with the Congolese shot-stopper who therefore made the decision to leave.

Steve Cooper’s side have made their move for Henderson and have managed to bring him in as their first Premier League signing.

The 25-year-old has spent the last two seasons at Old Trafford following a successful loan spell at Sheffield United.

However, last season he made just three appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.

With David de Gea the firm choice for the number one shirt, Henderson has pushed for a move away.

He will also be looking to impress and get plenty of minutes ahead of this winter’s World Cup.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have included a buy option in the deal.

Brennan Johnson new deal and Giulian Biancone deal close

The good news keeps on coming for Forest with Brennan Johnson having signed a new contract and a deal for Giulian Biancone now close.

Johnson has agreed a new deal at the City Ground until 2026.

The 21-year-old played an integral role in helping Forest return to the top-flight scoring 19 goals and winning the Championship Young Player of the Season award.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reports that a deal for Biancone is all agreed.

The right-back will undergo a medical on Saturday ahead of completing a move from Troyes.
