Tottenham are set to complete the signing of Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence before they fly out to South Korea for their pre-season tour on July 9th, in a deal worth £15m.

Spurs have undergone a major recruitment drive this summer, having already announced the additions of Fraser Forster, Ivan Persisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison, while Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet also inbound in the coming days.

Meanwhile, a deal for Spence has been on the backburner for much of the summer, but is now expected to kick on, according to the Telegraph.

‘Spence, 21, has been a priority target for Antonio Conte this summer and he is set to undergo a medical in time to join Tottenham on their pre-season tour of South Korea’, they report.

The Lilywhites are set to shell out a base fee of £15m, which could rise to £20m with add-ons, in turn becoming Middlesbrough’s record sale.

What next for Spurs?

Despite the deluge of additions, it seems as though Antonio Conte and co. are not done in the transfer window yet.

They remain on the hunt for another centre-back, though links to the likes of Josko Gvardiol and Alessandro Bastoni have gone cold.

The north London side are also being linked with a move for another forward, amid media speculation that they are plotting a move for Lenglet’s teammate Memphis Depay.
