10 best defenders to pick for your 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League side

10 best midfielders to pick for your 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League side

Best goalkeepers on FPL

In this article, we will highlight the top 6 goalkeepers worth picking up in your Fantasy Premier League side for the 2022/23 campaign.

6. Robert Sanchez, Brighton (4.5m)

If you need a budget goalkeeper this year, Robert Sanchez is the best choice.

Brighton had the 5th-best defence in the Premier League last season behind only Wolves and the top-four. The Seagulls also have a fairly nice opening to the campaign.

5. Edouard Mendy, Chelsea (5.0m)

At 5.0m Edouard Mendy has the potential to be a great FPL pick this year.

The Senegalese star did manage three fewer clean sheets than he did in the previous campaign. However, despite having a weakened backline for much of the season, Mendy still earned 13 shutouts.

So, in theory, he should improve on that tally with Reece James and Ben Chilwell now back fit.

4. Jose Sa, Wolves (5.0m)

Another excellent 5.0m option this term is Jose Sa.

Wolves had the 5th– best defence in the Premier League in 2021/22, with Sa the 4th-best goalkeeper on FPL. All three of the players above him are also more expensive this campaign.

Wolves have a nice opening to the campaign, facing all of Fulham, Bournemouth and Southampton in the opening six gameweeks.

3. Hugo Lloris, Tottenham (5.5m)

With Antonio Conte now at the helm for a full season, Hugo Lloris, in theory, could rival Ederson and Alisson for the Golden Glove.

The Frenchman was able to keep 16 clean sheets in 2021/22, despite the fact Tottenham had a horrid start to the seaosn under Nuno Espirito Santo, managing just three clean sheets in their opening 10 games.

2. Alisson, Liverpool (5.5m)

In truth, there is little to separate our number two and number one choices.

Both Alisson and Ederson are superb keepers and play for the two best teams in the Premier League.

They also kept the joint-most clean sheets in the division last season, with City and Liverpool conceding the same number of goals (26).

1. Ederson, Manchester City (5.5m)

The reason Ederson is our number one pick over Alisson is simply because he and Manchester City have been more consistent over the last five campaigns, with the former Benfica man managing three Golden Gloves compared to Alisson’s two.
