Juventus icon Giorgio Chiellini has, on Friday, tipped his former club to swoop for a key member of the attacking ranks of Premier League giants Chelsea.

The player in question? Christian Pulisic.

For those not aware, recent weeks have seen wide-man Pulisic routinely linked with a move to Turin, to link up with Massimiliano Allegri’s Juve ahead of the new campaign.

This comes amid the suggestion that the one-time Borussia Dortmund standout could be utilised as a makeweight in a cash-plus-player deal for Chelsea target Matthijs de Ligt.

To this point, it has remained unclear just how receptive the board at the Allianz Stadium have been to such a prospect, amid suggestions that the Bianconeri would rather sanction a straight cash deal in the case of De Ligt’s exit.

One individual with long standing ties to Juventus who is of the opinion that Pulisic would prove a fine addition to the Old Lady’s ranks, though, is Giorgio Chiellini.

Italian international Chiellini of course brought the legendary chapter of his Juve career to a close this summer, since linking up with MLS outfit Los Angeles FC as a free agent.

Speaking in an interview with ESPN, the veteran defender was therefore unsurprisingly drawn on the prospect of one of the star members of the United States international setup – Pulisic – linking up with his former club.

And Chiellini appeared fully behind the idea, in explaining:

“Pulisic is very good, I think, when he starts from the side and comes inside, and with the injury of Chiesa — he [will] surely still return, but not before September, and in the first months, surely he can play every game.

He continued:

“With the [arrival] of Angel Di Maria, Pulisic could be the fantastic third winger for Juventus. He has improved year by year, he did a fantastic season in Chelsea.”
