Premier League outfit Southampton have, on Saturday, unveiled the latest addition to the club’s first-team setup.

The summer transfer window, to date, has of course proven an altogether productive one on the part of the powers that be at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Amid ongoing efforts to reinforce a squad which finished just five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone last time out, the Saints, before today, has secured a quartet of new signings.

These came in the form of Manchester City talents Gavin Bazunu, Romeo Lavia, VFL Bochum defender Bella-Kotchap, and free agent shot-stopper Mateusz Lis.

Evidently, though, Ralph Hasenhuttl and co. are of the opinion that the work is far from done.

In turn, on Saturday, yet another new face has come through the door at St. Mary’s, in the form of long-time target Joe Aribo.

Recent weeks had of course seen midfielder Aribo, fresh off a fine campaign in Scotland with Rangers, hotly tipped to take his talents to the south of England with Southampton.

And, this weekend, the transfer team at the latter finally did enough to convince their Gers counterparts to bid the 25-year-old farewell.

As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:

‘Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Joe Aribo from Rangers on a four-year deal.’

The deal is understood to have set Southampton back an initial fee of £6 million, rising to a potential total of £10 million including add-ons.
