The battle for Serge Gnabry’s signature is on with Bayern Munich hoping to renew his contract and Chelsea keen to sign him.
The Bavarians have opened talks over a new deal whilst the Blues have expressed interest in bringing him to west London.
The winger’s future is unclear with his current contract at the Allianz Arena due to expire in 2023.
Bayern Munich and Chelsea battle for Gnabry
According to Kicker, Gnabry’s preference is to renew his contract with Bayern Munich.
Both the player and the club are optimistic that an agreement will be found.
A deal of four to five years is being discussed between the two parties and they are getting closer.
Bayern are receiving positive signals from Gnabry, who knows this is the biggest contract of his career.
Chelsea are also keen to sign him and have made a recent approach to him.
Despite his previous ties to Arsenal, he is understood to be open to a move to Stamford Bridge.
But for now, his preference is to renew with Bayern.
