Manchester United have struck a full agreement with FC Barcelona over a deal for Frenkie de Jong, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils increased their offer for the Dutch midfielder following further talks with Barça.

But now remains the final hurdle of convincing the player to make the move, with his priority to remain at Camp Nou.

Man Utd reach agreement with Barça but must convince de Jong

Manchester United’s deal agreed for Frenkie de Jong is worth a total of €85 million.

Erik ten Hag’s side will pay a fixed fee of around €75 million, with add-ons covering the rest.

The two clubs struck an agreement following another round of talks.

De Jong is a priority signing for their new manager and that is why the Red Devils are so keen to land him.

But, plenty of work still remains, as they must now convince the midfielder to make the move to Manchester United.

Lisandro Martínez not training with Ajax this morning

Another deal United are seemingly close to concluding is for Ajax defender Lisandro Martínez.

Mike Verweij claimed last night that the Premier League club were close to reaching an agreement to sign him.

They made an offer of close to €55 million in an hour-long meeting between the two clubs.

Now this morning, he is reporting that the Argentine international is not training with Ajax today.
