Barcelona star Sergino Dest has, on Friday, provided a fresh insight into his future with the club.

Dest’s place at the Camp Nou, of course, had been cast into doubt across the summer to date. Fresh off something of a hit and miss campaign, the 2nd half of which saw him often lose out to an aging Dani Alves, the United States international was tipped to move on, having failed to convince boss Xavi Hernandez of his place in the Blaugrana’s long-term plans.

Speaking to the media earlier today, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his long-term prospects in Catalunya was put to Dest himself.

The versatile full-back, though, was quick to shut down any and all transfer speculation, in assuring that he will ‘definitely stay here’.

Elsewhere on the personnel front at the Camp Nou, Dest has today been officially joined by a new addition to Xavi’s ranks.

The latest high-profile player to have taken his talents to Barcelona? Raphinha.

On the back of months of rampant speculation, the powers that be in the Catalan capital finally struck a definitive deal with their Leeds United counterparts earlier this week, with Raphinha, in turn, having been unveiled as a Blaugrana player on Friday afternoon.

The move, it is understood, has set Barca back an upfront fee in the region of €58 million, followed by a series of add-ons totalling a potential €10 million.

The Brazilian international, for his part, has put pen to paper on a contract through the summer of 2027.
