Juventus star Paul Pogba has revealed that he reached out to Paulo Dybala this summer, in an effort to push the Argentine towards staying put in Turin.

Gifted forward Dybala, of course, saw his name take its place centre stage in the headlines at the Allianz Stadium over recent months.

This came after those in a position of power at Juventus surprised the masses in opting against offering their long-time star attacker a new contract.

Opting instead to build the club’s project around big-money January addition Dusan Vlahovic, Dybala, in turn, was allowed to move on as a free agent.

The 28-year-old has since gone on to put pen to paper on terms with Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma, granted his wish of remaining in Italy through the 2022/23 campaign and beyond.

As alluded to above, though, one star name on Juventus’ books who was left altogether disappointed by Dybala’s exit this summer comes in the form of Paul Pogba.

French international Pogba of course sealed his own Bianconeri return this month, linking up with Massimiliano Allegri’s troops after allowing his terms with Manchester United to expire.

With Dybala remaining a close friend owing to the pair’s previous time together in Turin, though, Pogba has revealed that he made contact with the Argentine, to ask him to push for a contract extension.

Dybala, though, informed his ex-teammate that it was ‘already over’, questioning why Pogba ‘didn’t tell me earlier’.
