Thomas Tuchel has been discussing Arsenal after the Gunners smashed Chelsea in a pre-season friendly.

Arsenal and Chelsea faced off at the Camping World Stadium during the early hours of Sunday morning for the Florida Cup.

Both sides headed into the game no doubt fancying their chances of picking up a win, but it was Arsenal who came out on top and by some margin.

Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Albert Sambi Lokonga all found the back of the net without a reply from the Blues.

Now, speaking after the game, Thomas Tuchel has offered his verdict on his side’s London rivals:

“Given our last two weeks, our game today, we should not mention the two teams in front of us”, the German said when asked about looking at closing the gap between Liverpool and Manchester City. “We got absolutely beaten by a team that does not play Champions League football next season and finished behind us.”

“But at the moment, they seem far ahead of us.

“I saw today a team in Arsenal who are mentally committed to an idea of playing, a level of exhaustion, a level of physical commitment that we could not match.

High praise from Tuchel that will no doubt fill Arsenal with confidence heading into the 2022/23 campaign, in which they are expected to challenge Chelsea and Tottenham for a top-four place.
