Thousands have taken to the streets of Gabon’s capital, Libreville, to celebrate a military coup leader being sworn in as president. In his inauguration speech, General Brice Oligui Nguema repeated his promise to hand power to the people, but didn’t give any timeline. Opposition parties claim the general, a cousin of deposed president, Ali Bongo, had been aided by other family members.
