It’s been 2 weeks since the military seized power in Gabon, toppling President Ali Bongo who was seeking a 3rd term in office, after his father Omar Bongo ruled the central African country for nearly 42 years. Opponents of the Bongos have long denounced the dynasty for plundering public funds and embezzling huge sums of money for their personal gain, at the expense of public services and infrastructure.
