Kenya has emerged as a global leader in renewable energy: almost 90 percent of its electricity now comes from green sources. Since the 1980s, the government has focused on geothermal – which now generates a third of the country’s electricity. But Nairobi is also emerging as a global leader in solar energy generation – which is being hailed by experts as a game-changer. Olivia Bizot and Elodie Cousin report.
